Steps 3 & 4: Build & Evaluate

Now that you have applied and have been awarded a CNGF garden grant, here’s what to do next.

Step 3: Build a Native Garden!

After you have received notice of the approval of your grant, work can begin. CNGF will communicate with you about the award of the grant and how to proceed with the work of creating your native garden.

This grant is to be used only for the purpose described in the grant approval. The grant is subject to modification only with the prior approval of CNGF. The grantee shall return to CNGF any unexpended funds at the end of the grant period.

Step 4: Garden Grant Report

About 6 months after the grant is awarded, CNGF requests that you complete a Garden Grant Report form, briefly describing

  • how the grant was used
  • outcomes achieved as a result of the grant
  • difficulties encountered along the way
  • future plans for the program

You can download a PDF of the Garden Grant Report Form.

Thank you for working with CNGF! If you have further native garden projects, we hope you will consider another grant request!

We welcome your comments on the garden grant process. Write to us at info@cngf.org.
