Earthcare logoEarthCare Landscaping is a full service sustainable design-build firm with a maintenance team that provides quarterly service. Providing beautiful gardens for 19 years in the South Bay Area, EarthCare pioneered the use of sheet mulching, drip irrigation, LED lighting, soil-foodweb health, compost tea, and pervious surfaces including the trademarked PrettyPervious Concrete. President and founder Ryan Marlinghaus built his successful company with a passion for contributing to the environment. He created several innovative programs and products in an ongoing effort to find the most sustainable products and processes, all while keeping prices affordable. He is a founding member of the Sustainable Landscape Roundtable, a local networking professional group, past president of the California Landscape Contractors Association’s Education Committee, assisted the board of the Bay-Friendly Landscape Coalition, and currently is chairman of the Landscape Advisory Committee to the Santa Clara Valley Water District (SCVWD). Senior Designer and general Gal Friday Deva Luna received her horticulture degree from UC Davis and specializes in edibles, habitat enhancement, greywater, and CA natives. She is a Bay Friendly Certified Design Professional and enjoys teaching and public speaking. Project Manager and Designer Lisa Gates received her horticulture degree from the University of Oregon, and is a Certified Water Manager. She has been with EarthCare Landscaping for over a decade and currently runs the popular Natural Front Yards program. Earthcare Silva NFY 2011 (13) This creative program is an affordable lawn replacement solution called Natural Front Yards, which uses small plants from a designated plant palette of natives and Mediterraneans, planted in sheet mulch. PrettyPervious Driveway Always looking for eco-friendly hardscapes, EarthCare now is proud to produce “PrettyPervious” concrete, a more attractive pervious concrete solution that allows water to stay on site and not run into the storm drains. Staff members hold certifications in Water Management, Bay Friendly Design, Greywater Certification, Green Gardener, Master Gardener, and Pesticide Management (even though we only use organic methods). Some of the awards EarthCare has received over the years in recognition of its sustainable efforts include receiving the first annual Sustainable Landscaper award from the SF Bay chapter of the California Landscape Contractors Association (CLCA) in 2002, and awards from the Business Environmental Network and the County of Santa Clara.
