This week we replaced the pump at the DCP site. We upgraded from an 8 watt pump to a 20 watt pump and installed an AC inverter to our solar panel to power it.
This increased flow should help to oxygenate the water. This will also increase to flow through the swirl filter and purge the system of some of the solids that have accumulated at the bottom of the IBC tanks. Ultimately this should provide a healthier environment for the fish and prevent further losses.
As pictured the AC inverter is connected to the solar battery via jumper cables, we will be replacing those with a more permanent connection in the near future.
